Binder jetting has reached a critical point. For years, the technology has promised speed and scalability, but the reality has often been limited by materials that do not deliver.
At Atomik AM, we are determined to change that. The 90-Day Binder Prototype Challenge is our way of putting proof above promises. It is a real-world test of what is possible when binder chemistry is treated as the performance engine of the process, not an afterthought.
Why We Are Doing It
Binder jetting has been held back by a lack of trust. Too many systems have been oversold and under-delivered because the binders behind them could not hold up under real production conditions. This challenge is about rebuilding confidence with transparency about what works, what does not, and the lessons learned along the way.
How It Works
We are selecting two partners to take part.
Each will collaborate with our R&D team to:
- Develop a custom binder formulation matched to their powder and printer.
- Receive a validated sintered part with performance data on density, shrinkage and green strength.
- Complete the project in under 90 days, with full visibility of every step.
This is not about marketing promises. It is about open collaboration, honest data and showing the state of binder jetting as it truly is today.
What Partners Gain
- Access to the Universal Binder platform and Atomik’s material science team.
- A data-driven roadmap for scaling to production.
- The opportunity to shape future binder development for your powder or machine.
A set low fee applies to ensure serious commitment.
Our Goal
To demonstrate, with evidence, what binder jetting can achieve right now and where it still needs work. Every result, challenge and improvement from the 90-day projects will help move the industry forward.
